How to diagnose Human infections with swine influenza virus ?Swine Flue Diagnosis
First a respiratory specimen is collected from the patient with 4-5 days of infection to diagnose the swine flu influenza virus; because this is the time when the infected human body produces more viruses. This case is for normal adults. But in the case of children the period may last for 10 days or longer. Then the collected specimen will be sent to the laboratory for testing in order to identify the swine flu influenza.
Swine flu infected patients should be considered more separated because of the possibility which stays up to 7 days following the illness. This potential contagious is longer for children
Swine flu Vaccine
As now there is no vaccine which is much ready to protect against pandemic flu.It is estimated that at least 6-12 months needed to produce the Vaccine against Swine Flu virus H1N1.Protections like Seasonal flu vaccine or past flu immunization may not be sufficient.
Medicines for swine flu
Oseltamivir Tamiflu or zanamivir Relenza can be used to treat or prevent the infection caused by the swine influenza virus. These drugs are recommended by US CDC.
The reproduction rate of H1N1 virus inside the human body can be controlled by using the antiviral drugs which are the prescription medicines like liquids, pills or inhaler. These antiviral drugs make the illness milder by preventing the serious flu complications.
Lifetime of Swine Flue Virus
It is a general fact that some viruses and bacteria can live up to 2 hours or longer on surfaces like doorknobs, desks and cafeteria tables. The chances of getting contamination from these surfaces can be reduced by washing the hands frequently. This viruses spread from human to human when he/she touches these contaminated surfaces and then touches his/her nose, eyes or mouth and touches another person.
