Class 7 road test
You may take the Class 7 road test to get your Class 7N driver’s licence after you've had your Class 7L Learner’s (L) licence for at least 12 months. The road test assesses your driving skills and provides you with test results.

Class 7N driver’s licence road test to check your driving skills:
You will perform various manoeuvers while an ICBC driver examiner marks your ability to drive in a safe, smooth, controlled manner. Examiner checks that you use the key driving skills. Examiner assesses your See-Think-Do skills. See-Think-Do is a driving strategy to help you scan for hazards, decide on safest solution and perform manoeuvers safe. Includes an assessment of hazard perception skills. You may take about 45 minutes or more. See Preparing for a Road Test for more information.

What you need to know for the Class 7 driver’s licence road test:
You need to book the Class 7 road test in advance.
Please be sure to bring required ID. (This is important to process your application.) Road test is $35. If you pass, a Class 7 novice photo driver's licence, which is valid for 5 years, will cost an additional $75. Once you pass the Class 7 road test, you qualify for your Class 7N driver's licence and to enter the Novice (N) stage of Graduated Licensing Program (GLP). If you don't pass, you may take the test again after 14 days
