Pesto sauce recipe|Pesto sauce preparation methods|Pesto sauce health

To make spaghetti al pesto sufficient to serve 4 to 6 as a first course or four as a main course with a tossed salad you will need:
Prep Time: 20 minutes : Cook Time: 30 minutes : Yield: 4 Servings Spaghetti al Pesto

Pesto Sauce Ingredients

* 45 leaves freshly picked basil (about a packed cup)

* 1/4 cup grated aged pecorino (Tuscan or Sardinian, because Romano is too sharp)

* 1/3 cup grated Parmigiano (increase this to 3/4 cup if you cannot find the pecorino)

* 2 cloves of garlic

* 2/3 cup the best olive oil

* 1/2 teaspoon salt

* 1/2 cup pine nuts (technically optional though almost everybody includes them)

* 1/3 cup walnut meats (optional)

* 1 pound (500 g) spaghetti

Pesto Sauce Preparation Methods

If you have a marble mortar and wish to use it (purists say neither brass nor wood mortars will work), put the salt, garlic, nutmeats and basil in it and grind the mixture, firmly crushing the ingredients against the sides of the mortar, rather than striking sharp blows with the pestle. When the mixture is ground, add the cheese, a bit at a time, continuing to grind, and when it is all worked in, add the oil in a slow stream, stirring with a wooden spatula. The resulting pesto should be smooth and creamy.

Italian Pesto RecipeItalian Pesto|free Italian Pesto Recipe|Italian Pesto Recipe download|Italian Pesto ingredients|Italian Pesto preparation methods

Among the Italian foods, pesto is a simple combination of ingredients that are local and plentiful there: olive oil, herbs, nuts, cheese, garlic. But deceptively simple. The key is balance among the flavors and especially balance in the olive oil itself. All olive oils are not created equal. We use Primo extra virgin olive oil for our pesto. Fresh and strongly fruity but with no lingering bitterness, Primo provides the harmony that makes this sauce sing.

Ingredients for Italian Pesto Recipe

* 2 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves (1 ounce of leaves)

* 2 medium garlic cloves, peeled

* 1/2 cup pine nuts (2-1/2 ounces) or a mixture of pine nuts, walnuts, almonds, and pumpkin seeds

* 2 Tablespoons cheese, grated (.5 ounce) —Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, Pecorino-Romano

* 1/4 cup Primo extra virgin olive oil

* salt to taste

How to Prepare Italian Pesto

1. Purée the herbs, garlic, nuts, and cheese in a food processor with the metal blade

2. Add Primo extra virgin olive oil. Taste and add salt if it needs it. This makes a little less than one cup of dipping strength pesto

3. To use it on pasta, add a bit more Primo extra virgin olive oil or a couple of spoonfuls of the water you heat for the pasta. Go green with Primo Pesto on spinach pasta

Driving Test For Getting a Driving License|Driving License Test

The test will include an eyesight check (if you fail this, your test will not continue).

The eyesight test requires you to read a number plate that is a certain distance away. For more information about the eyesight check please use the 'Driving eyesight requirements' link below.

Driving Eyesight Requirements

After the eyesight test you will be asked two vehicle safety check questions. You will then be examined on your general driving and on two reversing exercises. The reversing exercises will be chosen from:

* reversing around a corner

* turning in the road

* reverse parking [ either bay parking or parallel parking ]

You may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop exercise.

The driving part of your test will last about 40 minutes. Throughout the test your examiner will be looking for an overall safe standard of driving, including when you are carrying out the set exercises. You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more results in failure). However, if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test.

The driving test is straightforward and has been designed to see if you:

RBI interest rate | Interest rates hike | Hike in Interest rate

RBI hikes rates by 25 bps; home, auto loan rates may go up. Rattled by a spiralling inflation, the central bank raised the benchmark short-term interest rates—repo and reverse repo—by 25 basis points.

While the RBI communiqué was issued well after market hours in India, US stocks slipped soon after the announcement as traders felt it was a signal that monetary authorities would be quick in withdrawing the post-Lehman stimulus. Banks are expected to take a call on raising the deposit and lending rates after the March 31 financial closure. According to Chanda Kochhar, CEO of India’s second-biggest lender, ICICI, the bank “will wait and see the credit offtake and systemic liquidity to assess the medium-term impact on lending and borrowing rates”. “Currently, there is ample liquidity in the market,” she said.

Indian Overseas Bank chairman SA Bhat said, “I do not expect interest rates to go up in March... if at all, it may happen next month.” Mortgage giant HDFC said unless there is an increase in the cost of funds, the institution will not increase interest rates. “In the short term, cost of funds is unlikely to change much... It’s more a signal,” said Keki Mistry, vice-chairman and managing director of HDFC.

2010 Right Yaaa Wrong Movie Review, Right Yaaa Wrong, Right Yaaa Wrong Review, Right Yaaa Wrong 2010 Movie Review, Right Yaaa Wrong Movie, Right Yaaa Wrong Movie Rating, Right Yaaa Wrong Movie Review, Right Yaaa Wrong Rating, Right Yaaa Wrong Starcast, Right Yaaa Wrong Trailer Video

Starring: Sunny Deol, Irrfan Khan, Isha Koppikar, Kiron Kher, Deepal Shaw, Aryan Vaid, Konkona Sen Sharma, Govind Namdeo, Anjan Shrivastava
Director: Neeraj Pathak
Music: Monty Sharma

Appearances can be deceptive. Somehow, I’ve not been able to connect to the promos of RIGHT YAAA WRONG. And now, after I’ve watched the film, I genuinely feel that the promos don’t do justice to this taut thriller.

Also, I had strong reservations for this one. Sunny Deol, an A-lister at a point of time, had slipped into oblivion thanks to the wrong films that he chose to act in. Two factors that really go against RIGHT YAAA WRONG.

But never judge a book by its cover [in this case, its promos]. For, RIGHT YAAA WRONG is a gripping thriller with a taut courtroom drama that catches you unaware and surprises you, especially towards its post-interval portions.
Come to think of it, a plot like RIGHT YAAA WRONG is not easy to pen and narrate. The conflict between two thick friends and how they find themselves on the opposite sides of the law ought to be handled with gloves. Most importantly, when the tension reaches its peak, the culmination has to be razor-sharp and concurrently, justify both the sides’ point of view. Fortunately, RIGHT YAAA WRONG hits the right note.

So what’s the verdict? Is watching this fare right or wrong? It’s right, I’d say!
Ajay [Sunny Deol] is a brave cop. An unexpected incident takes place and he wants his wife [Eesha Koppikhar] to kill him. Will a wife agree to kill her own husband? Why does Ajay want to kill himself?

Ajay and Vinay [Irrfan Khan] were the best of friends, but an intense rivalry leads to a battle for supremacy. A dramatic confrontation ensues, where Vidya [Konkona Sen Sharma], Vinay’s sister, chooses to support Ajay in this chase of mind games and Vinay has to fight it out.

Let’s face it, you don’t take to RIGHT YAAA WRONG at the outset. The initial portions give an impression of been-there-seen-that to the viewer. But, gradually, RIGHT YAAA WRONG starts getting into the groove, when Sunny hatches a conspiracy of his death and asks his wife and brother to execute his plans. The interval point is indeed a shocker!

The film takes off in its second half, when Sunny sticks to his alibi, while Irrfan doesn’t buy Sunny’s statement and re-opens the case. The twists and turns in this hour, interspersed with courtroom sequences, which leads to an emotional finale, are simply spellbinding.

Director Neerraj Pathak shows immense potential. He had proved his credentials as a writer earlier [GHAATH, PARDES, APNE], but with RIGHT YAAA WRONG, he proves he’s an efficient storyteller as well. Monty’s music is strictly functional and the few songs in the narrative don’t contribute much.

33% Reservation for Women on Women's Day | Womens Day Special

The bill will be introduced around noon and the debate will begin minutes later. As is now being anticipated, despite likely disruptions, the House is expected to discuss the bill. In that case, Rajya Sabha will cast a historic vote around 5pm and set in motion the process of women's quota being turned into law.

The vote is the first step in making the 33% quota for women in Parliament and assemblies a reality. The battle in Lok Sabha remains, but the scales will tilt irretrievably. A "yes" vote means West Bengal and Tamil Nadu assemblies, where elections are due in 2011, could have no less than 98 and 78 women MLAs. The next LS will have at least 181 women, up from 59 in the present House.

Parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Bansal pointed out that the bill's outright opponents numbered less than 30. "We have to see how the House looks in the morning. But we might have a debate though some situations cannot be fully anticipated," he said. The government has time to bring the bill to Lok Sabha till early next week.

Indian Child Dead in Australia | Indian toddler Found dead in Australia

Australian police are hunting the killer of a three-year-old Indian toddler who was found dead after he went missing from his house here.

The Victorian state police said a toddler's body was found on Thursday evening by a council worker in long grass matched the description of missing boy Gurshan Singh Kaurchanna who went missing from Lalor suburb.

Gurhsan was in Australia on holiday with his family and was due to return to India later this week. The body was found around 30 kms away from his residence.

Reacting to the incident, Victorian premier, Mr John Brumby, said: "This is an unthinkable tragedy. My heart goes out to the young boy's family in what must be such a terrible time. Police will do everything in their power to establish who is responsible and bring them to justice."

On Thursday night, a media report quoted the deputy police commissioner, Mr Ken Jones, as saying "Clearly, the circumstances are suspicious so we are fearing the worst."

"We are treating it as a homicide," Mr Jones said adding that police were probing number of areas and there were no suspects at this stage.

The toddler's mother, Harpreet Kaur Channa, rang the police after he had been missing for 45 minutes, prompting a massive search involving more than 15 police units, the dog squad and air wing.

Mr Jones said the boy's body was found fully clothed in blue jeans and a grey top. But he said he could not say how he died.

Mr Jones said the boy's Punjabi-speaking parents were talking with police interpreters and were due to formally identify the body later on Thursday night.

He further said "I would ask for calm and support from media to allow investigators time and space to conclude a thorough investigation."

The deputy police commissioner said the Victoria police would use every resource at its disposal and investigate every possibility to ensure the killer was brought to justice.

"We are not ruling anything in or anything out," he said.
"If foul play has taken place we will do everything in our power to find out what has taken place and to bring people to justice," he added.

Harpreet Kaur, who is studying in Australia, and another member of the household frantically searched the home when they realised that he had disappeared.

Tummy Fat Reducation Mechanism | Tummy Fat Reducation Remedies

An international team has carried out a study and found that bacteria in an obese's stomach could be responsible for the unwanted pounds, the latest edition of the 'Science' journal reported.

The bugs, which are found in the digestive tract, are thought to boost appetite. They appear to cause cholesterol and blood pressure problems and raise the odds of diabetes and liver disease, the scientists say.

Although the scientists discovered the tummy bug link in experiments on mice, the results are relevant to human waistlines, according to the study. "It has been assumed that the obesity epidemic in the developed world is driven by an increasing sedentary lifestyle and the abundance of low-cost high-calorie foods.
"However, our results suggest that intestinal bacteria contribute to changes in appetite and metabolism," team leader Andrew Gewirtz of Emory University in Atlanta was quoted by the 'Daily Mail' as saying.

He said cleaner water supplies and the widespread use of antibiotics may have paved the way for the emergence of such bugs.

The research focused on mice genetically engineered to be prone to bacterial infection. They were found to put weight on more quickly than other creatures.

Fed on high-fat food, they rapidly developed full- blown diabetes and fatty liver disease. When the scientists "transplanted" some of the tummy bugs from these mice into normal, healthy animals, they also piled on the pounds.

Sachin Tendulkar for Bharat Ratna | Sachin Tendulkar Bharat Ratna Award

Sachin's double-hundred against South Africa in Gwalior has not only silenced his critics, but clean bowled the Shiv Sena, which had taken on the iconic batsman over his "Mumbai for all" remark.

"Hundred crore people of this country have already crowned Sachin as Bharat Ratna," said Sena chief, Mr Bal Thackeray, in an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

"Shivaji Maharaj used to vanquish Moghuls on battlefield. Similarly, Sachin is a warrior on cricket battlefield. Such warriors are born only in Maharashtra," Mr Thackeray said.

"Shivaji wielded the sword. Similarly, Sachin wields the bat," the editorial said. "Sachin does not need anyone's recommendation to be awarded Bharat Ratna. He is already one," it said.

Migraine Treatment | Migraine Pain symptoms | Migraine pain medicine

In a ray of hope for millions of migraine patients for whom available drugs are of no help, American scientists have claimed to have developed a magnetic 'pain-zapper' that can relieve a sufferer of headache within two hours.

The device, of the size and weight of a hair-dryer, is based on a technique called single-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (sTMS) in which electrical currents produced by powerful magnets are used to stimulate brain cells.

At the first sign of a migraine, the device is held against the back of the head and switched on. It gives out two fleeting bursts of electricity which short-circuit the 'electrical storm' in the brain that causes the splitting pain, flashing lights and blurred vision associated with migraine.

The device, developed by Californian firm Neuralieve, has been tested on around 160 migraine patients -- both male and female, the ‘Daily Mail’ reported.

As part of the study, half of the patients were given the gadget and half a dummy device that looked almost identical, to take home. They were told to treat up to three attacks at the first sign of symptoms and to record how they got on.

Almost 40 per cent of those who used the device were free of pain two hours later compared with 22 per cent in the other group.

Those who used the gadget were also more likely to be pain-free 24 and 48 hours later, according to a report in the journal ‘Lancet Neurology.’

According to the researchers, the electrical pulses produced by the gadget calm the over-excited brain cells responsible for migraines.

Dr Hans-Christoph Diener, a headache expert from Germany, cautioned that more work was needed to find the best way to use the device and that it could potentially trigger fits in epileptics.

But, he added: "sTMS could be a major step forward in the treatment of migraines with aura."

Migraine feature in the World Health Organisation's top 20 most disabling lifetime conditions and affects one in eight men and women.

The device is being assessed for sale in Britain and is expected to cost around £1,000.

Westminster University to launch India Media Centre

The University of Westminster here is setting up a dedicated centre to study Indian media, one of the major elements of India's growing soft power and its global impact.

The university, which pioneered Media Studies in the UK, aims to raise the academic profile of one of the most diverse and dynamic media systems in the world and one that is increasingly seen as playing an integral role in the global media sphere.
The India Media Centre, to be launched on March 9 with a keynote speech by noted director Shyam Benegal, will promote and develop advanced research on the aesthetic, commercial and globalising tendencies of Indian media and mediated culture in both transnational, as well as historical contexts.

Its aims include encouraging comparative studies and interdisciplinary research in international media, screen-based arts, culture and communication within the broader remit of internationalising film, media and cultural studies.

The centre will be directed by Professor Daya Thussu, who holds a PhD in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Rosie Thomas, a television producer and historian of Hindi cinema. The Centre is supported by an advisory board, representing leading scholars of media and popular culture in India and across the world, as well as key individuals in the Indian media and creative industries, such as Shyam Benegal, lyricist Prasoon Joshi, Kiran Karnik, former president of NASSCOM, and Prannoy Roy, chairman of NDTV.

Abnormal activities in Kalki Bhagwan ashram

I dont understand telugu but only could see the video. However I feel the proof shown may not enough proof for many believers because it only shows a few people acting stupid. It can be argued that there can be mentally ill people in an institute and only those videos were taken. I feel definitely more number of solid proofs should be given like in the case of Nityanada by SunTv. The work may be appreciable but a lot more evidence is needed to make it foolproof.
